    Like with most other retail operations, they are re-inventoried and resold (if possible).

    They are returned to the manufacturer.

    i know some Business will sometimes resell their returned items as :open box” or “refurbished” if it was broken, but with stuff like electronics they will normally check it for problems before reselling it.
