What happens if I am unable to make a payment intallment on an item from QVC?
I made a purchase from QVC using their Easy Pay program (4 payments). I made 1 payment. I feel absolutely horrible, but there was a sudden, unexpected expense that was beyond my control and is not enabling me to pay. I don’t know when I will be able to pay next. What do I do? What will they do?

First thing is to call & explain the circumstances. They may work with you. But if you ignore it, it will be put on your credit report & can adversely effect future need for credit or low interest, plus they can take it to court.
But I’ve found most times businesses will work with you if you make an effort & contact them. There’s even the possibility they’ll let you return it. At least if you try you show good faith & can have the credit bureau put that on any negative credit report.
Other than that I don’t see any options as you ordered it, they sent it in good faith & you made 1 payment confirming it was ordered & received.

My girlfriend swears by QVC. It seems like everything in her house, and everything she wears came from QVC.
She had been shopping with them for many years, and then last year she bought something (jewelry I think) on the installment plan, and was unable to make a payment after the initial one. She said that they called, and she told them she would try to work something out with them, but that didn’t happen. Then she started getting letters from them, and then from a collection agency. She said not only did she feel bad, but she was so upset because they cancelled her account. She also said that as of yet, it has not appeared on her credit report. That was back in January of 2006, right after Christmas.
Hope that helps.
