The Origins of Satellite TV
The first ever satellite television broadcast was made through the Telstar satellite in 1962. From that point on, the nature of television programming had never been the same again. No longer was line of sight absolutely necessary for one to be able to receive television broadcasts. However it took some time before homeowners were able to directly avail of satellite tv directly from home and it took and even much longer time before the cost of direct-to-home satellite television was affordable enough for many people to use. Only recently has satellite television been affordable enough for middle class incomes to own.
